I've often joked (but was actually very serious) in my insistence that had rock and roll not existed when I was growing up I might have had to invent it or else....

I quote rock music lyrics the way Biblical scholars cite The Good Book, but better. 

This is the kind of story that's red meat for me and, while we may, and in this case, won't, agree on the ranking or perhaps even the compilation, it is a terrific read.
