Congratulations to all those who voted today, everywhere.
We in Norwich made the most of our choices and seemed to do a large amount of ballot splitting in creating a wide spectrum of representatives from a new Mayor through a refurbished City Council.

Now that the election is over I would like to take a moment to post this brief missive. I know your chosen candidate did not win the election. Although I am sure that if he had made getting you a pony ride a plank in his platform, he would have won by a landslide. That being said, I must say over the past couple of months I have enjoyed your musings on the political scene here in Norwich. However I do think it our politics are summed up very well by the greatest political commentator ever (Obelix), when he says “Die spinnen, Die Römer”, we being the Romans. I certainly appreciate your postings of the local meetings of which there are a plethora. I do hope you remain engaged in the in the goings on here, and continue to post your insights.

You are most kind to find a moment to drop me a line, sir, and it's much appreciated.
We are and were very fortunate to have so many neighbors and friends from across the city offer themselves as candidates for positions--we were, as my mom might say, spoiled for choice.
Those selected for the various offices have their work cut out for them and will need all of us (animal, vegetable and mineral) to work with one another to help all of us succeed.
Your volunteering for the Ethics Commission (UNSOLICITED PLUG: First meeting is this Monday at five in City Hall) will, I hope serve as an example to all of us across The Rose of New England, including the thorns such as I, to give of ourselves for a greater good.
In as one of the keener observers of the human condition, Stefan Remmler,onece noted 'alles hat ein ende, nur die wurst hat zwei.' ;-)
